Youthworks is currently seeking qualified Christian Outdoor Educators to join their teams operating in Nowra, Sydney and the Blue Mountains. The successful applicants will have a proven record of involvement in Christian ministry, substantial outdoor field experience and a passionate commitment to supporting the ethos of Youthworks Christian Outdoor Education.
Each year Youthworks shares the gospel of Jesus with thousands of school students, and in addition, our Christian Outdoor Education Programs are designed to provide opportunities for personal and spiritual growth.
With a dynamic and exciting team of 50 permanent guides facilitating programs for over 20,000 students every year, Youthworks is Australia’s largest provider of Christian Outdoor Education.
You would be employed in a permanent position as part of a ministry team working extensively in the field on both site based and expedition programs. We have positions available at our centre on the Shoalhaven River just outside of Nowra, as well as the Royal National Park south of Sydney, or in Springwood in the lower Blue Mountains, NSW.
Essential criteria for applicants:
- Certificate III or IV in Outdoor Recreation
- Current First Aid Qualifications (Pref. Remote / LWFA)
- Current Bronze Medallion
- Strong intrapersonal & interpersonal skills
- Ability and enthusiasm to work as part of a ministry team
- Willingness and capacity to spend nights away from home on a regular basis.
- Solid practical understanding of the significance of risk in outdoor education
- Excellent facilitation skills in a Christian Outdoor Education context.
Applicants are sought for fulltime roles commencing in late January 2018. We also have short term roles available for the summer season which may suit guides wanting to work elsewhere in winter 2018. There are even a couple of seasonal positions available for an immediate start. On site accommodation may be available if needed for suitable applicants.
