About the branch
The Northern Victoria Region is responsible for the service delivery of initiatives, programs and services. On-ground works and services will conserve environments, protect culture and heritage, manage visitor facilities and improve opportunities and support fire and emergency management. Service delivery is managed and delivered within the demands of the Divisional Action plan and the requirements of the Division’s Statewide fire and emergency role and in partnership with community and government agencies.
About the role and your responsibilities
As the Ranger Team Leader, you’ll bring your ability to effectively lead a team and successfully deliver high quality services in line with the Regional Operations Plan. The position will monitor work practices and with support from the Area Chief Ranger and ensure compliance with relevant specifications such as Parks Victoria’s policies and procedures.
You will be mainly responsible for ‘hands on’ people management which includes leading, managing and developing the team which may include ongoing employees, contractors, casuals, temporary staff and/or volunteers, as well as developing and delivering team plans and works programs pertaining to operational services. As the Team Leader you will guide the team, to inspire enthusiasm, to ensure their safety and welfare and to ensure they are appreciated for their efforts.
To be successful for this role you will need:
- Demonstrated extensive experience in leadership, performance management and managing a team day to day.
- Demonstrate strong customer service focus both internally and externally.
- Track record in dealing with external stakeholders on a range of land management issues.
