Salary: $88,047 – $96,994 pa. (Level 5) + super & District Allowance
Permanent, full-time position
Under the minimal direction of the Regional Leader Conservation, this position delivers parks and conservation compliance services in the Goldfields region. The position leads investigations, conducts nature protection issue and licence assessments, plans and advises on nature protection issues generally, responds to reports of new introduced alien species in the wild and assists in the management of interactions between the public and wildlife.
To be considered for this opportunity, you must have considerable experience in conducting criminal investigations and have knowledge of the general principles and procedures associated with the preparation of full briefs of evidence for criminal prosecutions. You will also have sound knowledge of legislation, associated policies and guidelines relating to biodiversity and nature protection issues.
Your demonstrated experience in appropriately interpreting legislation, policies and guidelines and their application for wildlife nature protection issues, preferably with a broad knowledge of biodiversity protection, compliance management and regulation issues in Australia will hold you in high regard.
In accordance with relevant legislation and departmental policy, the successful applicant will be required to possess or obtain a current Working With Children Check and a current and satisfactory National Police Check prior to commencement.
To be eligible for permanent appointment to this position, it is essential to be a citizen of Australia or New Zealand or to have Australian permanent residency status.
