About the branch

The Operations Directorate is responsible for the delivery of initiatives, programs and services. On-ground works and services will conserve environments, protect culture and heritage, manage visitor facilities and improve opportunities and support fire and emergency management. Each region consists of a diverse range of parks and reserves. Staff working within the Region are responsible for providing efficient and effective implementation of a broad range of often complex park management functions including natural, cultural and built asset management, visitor management and services, stakeholder management, park planning and emergency response.

About the role and your responsibilities

We are looking for a dedicated and motivated professional to join our team! As the District Project Coordinator – Grampians Ark, you will be providing critical support in the protection of the diverse mammal assemblage found within the Gariwerd area. To do this, you will be responsible for delivering a landscape scale introduced predator control program and monitoring the biodiversity benefit.

You will be able to display an ability to manage a project efficiently and lead with influence, as in this role you will have a direct role in determining the project outcome and enabling decision making by others. We are seeking a highly effective communicator that can establish active relationships with external stakeholders, as the successful candidate will have direct contact with Landcare groups to advise on the impact of predator control and monitoring initiatives.

We’re looking for someone with:

  • A tertiary qualification in Environmental Science or equivalent professional experience
  • A proven record of project management activities, budgeting and staff management
  • A current employee Working with Children Check before commencing employment with us.
