About this Opportunity
If you have the skills in facilitating local community groups, undertaking bush care activities and have a passion for driving behaviour change for conserving and protecting the natural environment then this is the job for you!

We are seeking a suitably skilled professional to implement a variety of established environmental projects. This position will suit a person who enjoys the challenges of working in a unique and diverse environment and has a flair for effectively communicating key messages and a proven proficiency in the production of written reports.

Some of the requirements for the role:

  • Working closely with environmental volunteers and community groups providing advice on issues related to environmental/biodiversity management
  • Conduct communications and engagement activities to increase understanding and awareness of the City of Kalamunda’s environmental assets, issues and activities using all media platforms including print media, social media and the City’s website
  • Facilitate, support and coordinate public participation in nature resource management ensuring environmental and WHS best practices are used by the community
  • Work collaboratively with the Parks & Environmental Services Team in undertaking environmental management including revegetation
  • Demonstrate a high level of competency in the undertaking of administrative duties necessary to compliment the activities of the Parks and Environmental Services Team.
  • Using your well-developed communication skills to conduct meetings, workshops, negotiate, consult and reporting
  • A tertiary qualification in Environmental Science, Education, Group Facilitation and  Behaviour Change (or equivalent).

Remuneration Package & Benefits
This is a permanent full-time position working Monday to Friday, 75 hours over a 9-day fortnight with a rostered day off.

You will be working with an energetic team who are embracing the many and exciting developments within the City. The position is located at the Operations Centre in Walliston.

The position is Level 5 being $73,170 – $77,780 per annum, plus 10%  superannuation.
