The Western Basalt District comprises a diversity of cultural and environmental assets including the Brisbane Ranges National Park, Lerderderg and Werribee Gorge State Parks, You Yangs Regional Park, Macedon Regional Park, Steiglitz Historic Park, Serendip Sanctuary, Lake Connewarre State Game Reserve, Mt Buangor State Park, Enfield State Park, Hepburn Regional Park and numerous other reserves. The District manages over 50,000 hectares with over 900,000 visitors per year, offering a range of passive and active recreational opportunities in diverse settings.
About the role and your responsibilities
As the Ranger (Field Services), you will deliver in park services for efficient and effective delivery where you will assist and be supported by the Ranger Team Leader. The primary on the ground works you will deliver include, but are not limited to, maintenance of assets, infrastructure, and facilities; and the field delivery of environmental projects.
You will actively participate in a team environment and ensure that the overall success of the team is achieved through positive collaboration. You will also be adaptable and flexible to on the ground service requirements in order to ensure park management services are achieved at all times. You may also undertake Fire and Emergency response activities in accordance with requirements and level of training.
We’re looking for someone with:
- Excellent customer service, communication and interpersonal skills.
- Plant, chainsaw and machinery operation experience.
- Practical skills and experience in the maintenance and operation machinery, equipment and tools for horticulture maintenance
- A current employee Working with Children Check before commencing employment with us
