About the branch
The Regional Victoria Division is responsible for the service delivery of initiatives, programs and services. On-ground works and services will conserve environments, protect culture and heritage, manage visitor facilities and improve opportunities and support fire and emergency management. The Regional resources will support environmental, social and economic outcomes for rural, regional and urban communities. Service delivery is managed and delivered within the demands of the Divisional Action Plan and the requirements of the Division’s statewide fire and emergency role and in partnership with community and government agencies.

Each region consists of a diverse range of parks and reserves. Staff working within the Region are responsible for providing efficient and effective implementation of a broad range of often complex park management functions including natural, cultural and built asset management, visitor management and services, stakeholder management, park planning and emergency response.

About the role and your responsibilities
As a Ranger located in Dargo, you’ll carry out the day to day operations and services across our parks, ensuring our parks delivery great services to the community. In this role you’ll actively participate in planning and delivering in park services as directed by the Ranger Team Leader to enable efficient and effective delivery at a district level in accordance with the Regional Action Plan. As the Ranger you will undertake activities requiring a level of environmental and service expertise and the position will be accountable for personal performance.

This role will see you have good customer service skills and understand customer needs to ensure fit for purpose solutions can be implemented. You must be adaptable and flexible to on-the-ground service requirements in order to ensure superior park management services are achieved at all times, displaying strong customer service and interpersonal skills.

To be successful for this role you will need:

  • A tertiary qualification in Certificate or Diploma in Environmental Science, Natural Resource Management and/or equivalent experience in a similar field is preferable.
  • Demonstrated experience in customer service, communication and interpersonal skills.
  • Relevant level of knowledge of regulations and compliance procedures.
  • A current employee Working with Children Check
