At Melbourne Grammar School, our Outdoor Education program is an integral component of the holistic education we strive to provide every student.  Throughout their education, our students are encouraged to actively participate in activities to build self-reliance, the courage to take risks and a sense of responsibility.

We are seeking a Campus Lead to work with our Head of Grimwade House on the ongoing development, coordination and implementation of a sequential and high-quality outdoor education program for Years Prep- 6. Our Outdoor Education Campus Leads administer one MGS campus and one key department area. They will be the main contact for Outdoor Education in their designated campus and will create documents and attend parent and staff briefings.

Melbourne Grammar School has three camp facilities at Woodend, Breakfast Creek and the Banksia Peninsula that it utilizes to deliver its Outdoor Education Program in addition to programs conducted at remote locations in State and National Parks. This position is a full-time ongoing position, working as part of a close-knit Outdoor Education team with an expectation of up to105 days to be worked in the field.

You will bring:

  • The ability to design and lead innovative and engaging programs for students from Prep to Year 6
  • Experience in leading managing staff on program
  • Demonstrated ability to monitor and achieve budgetary targets
  • strong understanding of operational needs of contemporary Outdoor Education
  • A passion for building positive and collaborative relationships across a school community
  • Current Remote or Wilderness First Aid qualification
  • Valid WWCC or VIT registration.
