About BGS

Founded in 1882, Brighton Grammar is an Anglican school passionate about developing, inspiring and guiding each boy to achieve his personal best in every way. The School’s cutting-edge teaching and learning techniques, supported by our in-house research centre, attract the best minds in education.

Our Outdoor Education Program covers students from Prep through to Year 11 and supports the delivery of programs to ELC and Year 12 students. The program is fully mobile and involves a variety of journeys of differing lengths across varying locations both nationally and internationally.

About the Role

Applications are currently invited for Outdoor Education Group Leaders/Assistant Group Leaders to join Brighton Grammar on a range of programs for 2025.

An Outdoor Education Group Leader/Assistant Group Leader plays an important role in supporting the efficient and safe delivery of Outdoor Education Programs at Brighton Grammar School. This is achieved by collaborating with, and supporting, all other staff on program. As well as, by building strong rapport and trust with students they are leading. This experience is one that stretches not only the boys, but staff too, and will leave you with a sense of both professional and personal accomplishment.

In order to be considered for one of these fantastic opportunities, you will require:

  • Experience working in an outdoor education field setting with young students;
  • Knowledge of risk management processes and the ability to think on your feet when responding to risks;
  • Strong organisational skills and a proven ability in determining priorities;
  • Well-developed oral and written communications skills;
  • Proven ability to work in a team environment in accordance with sound management practices;
  • Wilderness First Aid essential;
  • Full and unrestricted Drivers License or Bus License as applicable to the duties required;
  • Current Working with Children Check;
  • Current National Criminal Record Check.
