Salary: From $74,051 pa. + super
Full-time, Permanent position commencing January 2026

Mt Binga Outdoor Education Centre is owned and operated by the Sunshine Coast’s Immanuel Lutheran College. It specialises in residential programs for school groups in Years 5 – 10. Programs include high ropes / navigation /expeditions, horse care and trail riding, archery, farm work, along with many other activities.

The main goal of the outdoor education program is that students experience community living and grow in their own self-sufficiency and confidence in who they are. These experiences are created and led by dedicated Outdoor Educational professional’s, stay with our students for life.

A combination of the following skills preferred, not essential:

  • Hold Blue Card (Essential) or be willing to obtain
  • Live and work within the values-driven Christian ethos of the Centre
  • Background in working with young people in an educational, pastoral care or equivalent Outdoor Education role/setting
  • Experience with a number of the following: high ropes, navigation, expedition, horse trail riding, archery, small and large group leadership and facilitation, pastoral care and 4-WD experience
  • Ability to recognise and lead during potential risks and emergency situations in outdoor activities and a rural setting, and coordinate responses where required
  • Cert III or IV in Outdoor Leadership
  • Senior First Aid certificate (Wilderness/Remote Area First Aid qualification will be considered favourably)
  • Safe Food Handling Certificate
  • Nursing, counselling or similar qualifications (including Anaphylaxis and/or Diabetes Training).

The duties of this role can include:

  • Supervision of students during programmed activities, lessons, leisure time, meal preparation and general care for all students
  • Assisting in basic farm duties – for example, milking cows, feeding sheep, chickens and horses
  • Assist in logistics such as stock control, food provision ordering, menu preparation and general supply procurement
  • Assisting in a pastoral care capacity for our students
  • Assisting in facilitation of a nighttime program, including group games and activities
  • Some rostered sleep overs.

Hours of duty will be on a rostered basis from 6 am to 10 pm, on a rotating 7 days a week roster.
