The School

Pembroke School is a co-educational, non-denominational, day and boarding School from Early Learning Centre to Year 12. Renowned for academic excellence and a broad, inclusive program, Pembroke offers the South Australian Certificate of Education (SACE) and is also an International Baccalaureate World School, offering the IB Diploma Programme (IBDP) and Primary Years Programme (PYP).

The role

As the Outdoor Education Teacher, you will have the opportunity to inspire and support students in developing an affinity with the outdoors, building resilience, leadership, and environmental awareness through engaging and challenging experiences.

  • Plan and deliver innovative Outdoor Education programs for students in Years 7 to 10.
  • Support the organisation and safe delivery of camps, excursions, and related activities.
  • Manage logistics, equipment, and budgeting in collaboration with the Coordinator of Outdoor Education (Middle School).
  • Foster a positive and inclusive environment, working closely with students, families, and staff.
  • Uphold the highest standards of safety, wellbeing, and educational outcomes.

What we are looking for

  • A qualified teacher registered in South Australia.
  • Demonstrated experience and passion for Outdoor Education, with strong skills in program delivery and student engagement.
  • Highly organised, motivated, and able to manage multiple activities in dynamic environments.
  • Committed to professional growth, safety standards, and best practices in outdoor education.
  • Strong communication and relationship-building skills with students, colleagues, and families.
  • A collaborative team member, ready to contribute to the broader life of the School.

Prescribed Conditions for Employment:

  • Working with Children Check (WWCC)
  • Department for Education Training (Plink)
    • Protective Practices Training
    • Responding to Risks of Harm, Abuse, and Neglect (RRHAN-EC) certification
      • 2-Hour Fundamentals
      • 4-Hour Masterclass
  • First Aid and CPR certification.
