At Melbourne Grammar School, our Outdoor Education program  is an integral component of the holistic education we strive to provide every student.  Throughout their education, our students are encouraged to actively participate in activities to build self-reliance, the courage to take risks and a sense of responsibility.

This commitment sees us expanding our staff cohort in 2025 to deliver a comprehensive program with a carefully designed progression from single-day Forest School excursions at Prep, right through to our capstone 20-day expedition for all Year 10 students; Beyond the Gates.

We are seeking Outdoor Educators to deliver sequential and high-quality outdoor education program for Years Prep-12. This role will see you spending most your time in the outdoors, in roles working directly with small groups (10-16 students) and also supporting the work of other Outdoor Education staff.

This position is a full-time ongoing position, working as part of a close-knit Outdoor Education team with an expectation of up to 125 days to be worked in the field.

About you

  • Cert IV or higher tertiary qualification relating to Outdoor Education
  • Current Remote or Wilderness First Aid qualification
  • Must hold, or be willing to obtain, either VIT registration or a current working with children clearance
  • Demonstrated experience working in outdoor education with primary and/or secondary students
  • Proven leadership and management of staff
  • Demonstrated enthusiasm and capacity to work in a dynamic and collaborative team environment
