Description
Beyond Limits Outdoor Education is looking for a permanent, full-time Program Manager.
Beyond Limits Outdoor Education is part of the Uniting Venues SA (UVSA) group – a ministry of Uniting Church SA. Beyond Limits provides activity programs at Adare (Victor Harbor), Nunyara (Belair) and at other locations within South Australia.
The Program Manager will provide effective oversight of day-to-day operations including management of staff, training, programs, equipment and expansion of our expedition and base-camp operations. The Program Manager is an integral part of the Uniting Venues SA (UVSA) Management Team and provides leadership and effective management of Beyond Limits’ operations to assist Uniting Venues SA in offering exceptional Christian hospitality to our guests.
Reporting to the Group Manager UVSA, the Program Manager’s key tasks are to:
- Provide collaborative and positive leadership leading by example to establish a cooperative approach to the achievement of the goals and vision of UVSA
- Encourage teamwork at all levels through open and honest communication
- Deliver safe, high quality and purpose-designed programs to guests in accordance with the UVSA philosophy of exceptional Christian hospitality
- Maximise participation and income opportunities, in consultation with the Group Manager UVSA, with an emphasis on growing expedition and base-camp operations
- Manage casual staffing levels and grow the capability and capacity of team leaders by providing regular and constructive feedback about performance and effectiveness
- Manage risk and compliance whilst ensuring adherence to AAAS and UCSA / UVSA policies and procedures
- Provide effective oversight of routine and preventative equipment maintenance.
The successful applicant will be required to have significant experience in a similar position and /or successful completion of a Diploma level qualification in Outdoor Leadership, Recreation, Education, or associated discipline. In addition, the successful applicant will have:
- Well-developed interpersonal skills with the ability to lead and mentor others
- The ability to organise and utilise financial, physical and human resources in an efficient and effective manner
- Experience in management of senior staff and team leaders with a multi-disciplinary staff environment
- The ability to delegate, manage, empower and inspire staff in achieving organisational goals.
Experience within the outdoor education or recreation industry will be highly regarded, as will a Certificate IV in Training and Assessing. Well-developed interpersonal and communication skills are a must in this role, as is your demonstrated commitment to a mainstream Christian denomination.
