About the role

The Waterways District management area comprises the navigable sections of the Yarra and Maribyrnong Rivers, which includes a variety of waterway and terrestrial assets and land parcels.

As a Ranger you will be responsible for providing efficient and effective implementation of a broad range of often complex park management functions including natural, cultural, and built asset management, visitor management and services, local port and waterway management, commercial management, community engagement, stakeholder management and emergency response.

We’re looking for someone with:

  • Must hold a Coxswains Near Coastal Certificate of Competency.
  • Certificate, Diploma or Degree in Environmental Science, Natural Resource Management and/or equivalent experience in a similar field is preferable.
  • Demonstrated experience in self-management and supervisory skills.
  • Demonstrated experience in customer service, communication, and interpersonal skills.
