About the role

Our Rangers are key to Parks Victoria providing exceptional experiences for visitors to Victoria’s parks and reserves. As a Ranger, you are responsible for the on-ground management of Parks Victoria’s estate, consistent with organisational priorities, policies and procedures, ensuring that people can enjoy the outdoors and protecting the things that make our parks and reserves so special.

We’re looking for someone with:

  • Relevant qualifications and skills for the on-ground management of the Parks Victoria estate, such as environmental science, natural resource management, conservation and land management, outdoor education, community engagement or carpentry or other trade.
  • Demonstrated experience delivering routine and moderately complex on-ground services and projects under general supervision and as part of a team to achieve agreed outcomes.
  • Strong interpersonal skills and excellent verbal communication, including the ability to explain concepts to people of different backgrounds and to engage constructively with colleagues and stakeholders.
  • Demonstrated ability to work as part of a team, and contribute to a safe, respectful, and inclusive team environment.
