About the role
As the Regional Coordinator Land Use and Statutory Planning (PAO), you will assist the Department of Energy, Environment and Climate Action (DEECA) in the delivery of the Metropolitan Land Acquisition Program. The position is the direct point of contact with DEECA for delivery of the program. You will provide expert advice and deliver by assessing and prioritising all land in the Metropolitan Land Acquisition Program most affected by a Public Acquisition Overlay (PAO) and prepare acquisition strategies for parklands parcels proposed to be managed by Parks Victoria. You will be responsible for coordinating with Regional staff within PV and DEECA and any other associated agencies to ensure that the program is delivered in line with the DEECA funding agreement. This position will service the delivery of the program across Melbourne and Southern and Maritime Regions.
You will have a direct report, a Land Use and Statutory Planning (LUSP) Officer (PAO) that will assist in the Parks Victoria assessment and prioritisation response for DEECA delivery of the Metropolitan Land Acquisition Program. As the Regional Coordinator you will set work, guide and support the LUSP Officer in their tasks and professional development. As required, this position will assist the Regional Planning LUSP and other Parks Victoria teams in providing advice and support around statutory, land use and estate management planning requirements within a regional setting.
We’re looking for someone with:
- A tertiary qualification relating to Planning, Natural Resource Management or Environmental Science and/or equivalent experience in a similar field.
- Demonstrated experience in provision of expert and technical advice and support, particularly demonstrating anunderstanding of land use and statutory planning matters.
- Demonstrated working knowledge of land use and statutory planning, procedural requirements and legislation, specially relating to Crown Land and Public Acquisition Overlay processes (PAO) is highly desirable.
- Demonstrated experience in analytical problem solving.
