Join Queensland Parks & Wildlife Service in Atherton or Cardwell as a Resource Ranger! Engage in vital environmental work across diverse ecosystems.

Queensland Parks and Wildlife Service and Partnerships is looking for Resource Rangers to become key members of our environmental protection teams in Atherton and Cardwell. Your role will be delivering technical expertise and leading the front on environmental assessments, botanical surveys, and the implementation of fire and pest management plans in line with our commitment to maintaining and enhancing the ecology of Queensland’s unique landscapes.

Atherton – Resource Ranger (Dry Tropics): Based in the Dry Tropics, you will be spearheading initiatives that include collaboration with First Nations peoples, managing fire and pest control programs, and adapting to the varying needs of the Princess Hills, Undara, and Littleton work units. The role involves frequent travel to remote areas and often overnight camping, supporting team efforts to protect our rich biodiversity.

Cardwell – Resource Ranger (Coastal Tropics): In the Coastal Tropics region, your primary responsibility will be to coordinate fire and pest management across contrasting ecosystems. Managing protected areas from the coastline to the hinterlands, you will play a critical role in preserving Queensland’s ecological diversity.
