The Midwest Region extends along the coast from Lancelin in the south to north of Carnarvon then inland past Meekatharra. The regional headquarters is in Geraldton. District offices are located at Geraldton, Jurien Bay and Denham, with District work centres at Monkey Mia, Gascoyne Junction, Mount Augustus, Yulga Jinna Aboriginal Community, Kalbarri, Cervantes and Lancelin.

The lands and waters we manage are varied and beautiful, from coastal cliffs, dunes and heath to rich marine communities to outback ranges and vast scrublands.

We currently have an opportunity for a Senior Ranger to join the Gascoyne District team.

Under the general direction of the Operations Manager you will be responsible for the overall management and leadership of depots/work centres in the Mount Augustus and Burringurrah National Parks areas in the Gascoyne District, including:

  • The development, organisation and implementation of works programs, projects and activities in Mount Augustus and Burringurrah National Parks in the Gascoyne District and facilitate the involvement of Burringurrah Aboriginal Rangers and Rangers Assistants in park management.
  • Supervising depot/work centre staff and contractors and organises and mentors Aboriginal Rangers, and Rangers Assistants with a focus on the Mount Augustus and Burringurrah National Parks.
  • Assuming a leadership role for compliance and enforcement issues in the area.
  • Organising and implementing works programs, projects and day to day operations relating to conservation and conservation reserve management.
