Salary: $77,950 – $81,682 pa. (Grade 3) or $83,601 – $86,303 pa (Grade 4) + District Allowance, Air Conditioning Allowance, 25% No Fixed Hours Loading, + 11.5% Super

The Midwest Region extends along the coast from Lancelin in the south to north of Carnarvon then inland past Meekatharra. The regional headquarters is in Geraldton. District offices are located at Geraldton, Jurien Bay and Denham, with District work centres at Monkey Mia, Burringurrah, Yulga Jinna, Gascoyne Junction, Kalbarri, Thundelarra, Cue, Cervantes and the Pinnacles. The lands and waters we manage with our Traditional Owner partners are varied and beautiful, from coastal cliffs, dunes and heath to rich marine communities to outback ranges and vast scrublands.
We currently have an opportunity for a Senior Ranger to join our team.
Under the direction (Grade 3) or general direction (Grade 4) of the Operations Manager, you will be responsible for the overall management and leadership of the Yulga Jinna work centre in the Gascoyne District, including:
- Developing, organising and implementing works programs, projects and activities across the Yulga Jinna work centre, Jilgu National Park (ex Waldburg station) and Gulali National Park (Collier Range National Park) and facilitating the involvement of Jidi Jidi Aboriginal Rangers and Rangers Assistants in park management.
- Ensuring that all programs, projects and activities are developed in consultation with District Parks and Visitor Services, Nature Conservation and Joint Management leaderships teams.
- Supervising work centre staff and contractors, organising and mentoring Aboriginal Rangers, Rangers Assistants with a focus on the Yulga Jinna work centre, Gulali National Park (Collier Range National Park) and the Jilgu (proposed) National Park (Ex-Waldburg Station).
- Assumes a leadership role for compliance and enforcement issues in the area.
- Organises and implements works programs, relating to conservation and conservation reserve management.
