About the role
Box Hill Institute is pleased to offer an exceptional opportunity for a dedicated and experienced professional to join us as a Teacher – Outdoor Recreation and Leadership. This is a full-time, fixed-term appointment until December 2025, based at our Lilydale Campus. This position also presents potential for ongoing employment, subject to performance and business needs, making it an exciting prospect for those seeking long-term career development in vocational education.
Reporting directly to the Course Coordinator – Sport, Fitness & Outdoor Leadership, this role forms part of the Management group within the Faculty of Creative, Business & Technology.
Key Responsibilities:
- Design and deliver innovative, high-quality instructional materials for Outdoor Leadership courses
- Facilitate engaging and effective learning experiences that foster student achievement and progression
- Support student success and progression, helping improve their career and education pathways into the industry.
- Ensure compliance with Box Hill Institute’s academic and operational standards, contributing to the delivery of excellence in vocational education.
About you

Qualifications and experience:
- Certificate IV in Training and Assessment (TAE40116/22) or a qualification at diploma level or higher in Adult Education
- Relevant vocational/industry qualification
- Equipped with or willing to obtain a Victorian Working with Children Check and National Police Check prior to commencement
- Current and sound experience within the industry and/or related disciplines
- Ability to design and deliver logical, succinct, up-to-date and engaging course materials and lessons.
- Proficiency in using learning management systems (i.e. Moodle) to create innovative and engaging learning experiences for students
- Ability to develop a range of complex documents that comply with all relevant quality standards, including unit plans and assessment tools.
