About CAMP Fairbridge
CAMP Fairbridge is a leading provider of outdoor education and adventure programs across Western Australia, operating from six unique locations: Pinjarra, Point Peron, Pemberton, Kalgoorlie, Geraldton, and Dampier. Our programs are designed to inspire young people through hands-on learning, adventure activities, and meaningful experiences that build confidence, teamwork, resilience, and essential life skills.

We are seeking passionate Outdoor Leaders to join our busy team at CAMP Fairbridge. Some of the classic activities that we lead across our sites include:

  • Kayaking
  • Snorkelling
  • Canoeing
  • Raft Building
  • Abseiling
  • Rock Climbing
  • High Ropes
  • Crate Climb
  • Mountain Biking
  • Archery
  • Bush Craft
  • Team Building.

Candidates who have previous experience leading school camps, overnight expeditions or a combination of the above activities are encouraged to apply. Depending on your previous experience, interest and qualifications, this role has the capacity to include leadership opportunities at both our urban and regional camps. The unique balance of camp leadership opportunities makes this the perfect role for both young leaders looking to develop their careers in the Outdoor Sector, while equally as appealing to experienced Freelance Outdoor Leaders wanting consistent, reliable work closer to home. While the majority of job roles are for casual Outdoor Leaders, full-time and part-time positions will be considered for candidates with the appropriate skills and experience.

Key Responsibilities:

  • Leading camps and activities in line with Fairbridge WA policies and procedures
  • Instructing skills and techniques used in outdoor activities
  • Facilitate group experiences throughout camp in line with program aims
  • Challenge and support groups to work together as a team
  • Encourage strong connections with the natural environment
  • Assist in the provision of first aid and emergency response procedures
  • Take part in ongoing training and professional development
  • Upkeep and maintenance of facilities and equipment in line with staff training.

Criteria

  • Outdoor leadership experience in water, land and roping activities
  • Sound time management, organisation, communication and interpersonal skills
  • Good level of fitness and ability to work in physically demanding environments
  • Interest in further development of facilitation and leadership skills
  • Willingness to travel and stay overnight at regional camps when required
  • Administrative experience in word processing and spreadsheets.

Qualifications (Desirable):

  • Bronze Medallion/START/Community Surf Rescue
  • Activity specific qualifications (kayak, abseiling, mountain biking, etc)
  • Provide First Aid & CPR
  • Wilderness/Remote Area First Aid
  • Skippers/Coxswain
  • Certificate IV Training & Assessment
  • Certificate II/III/IV Outdoor Recreation
  • Working With Children Check
  • National Police Clearance
  • WA Drivers Licence.
