Atlantis Beach Baptist College is a vibrant, co-educational independent Christian school in Two Rocks, currently catering for Kindergarten to Year 12. About this Role

We are seeking an enthusiastic and dynamic Physical Education / Outdoor Education teacher to join our Secondary team. The successful applicant will demonstrate a strong understanding of the WA Curriculum and a passion for fostering students’ physical wellbeing, leadership and team skills through practical learning experiences. This role provides scope and flexibility to grow PE and Outdoor Education programs at the College in conjunction with the leadership team. Commencing Term 3, 2025.

Key Responsibilities:

  • Deliver engaging and inclusive Physical Education and Outdoor Education programs across Years 7–12.
  • Plan and implement activities that promote teamwork, physical development, and personal growth.
  • Organise and lead Inter-house and ACC carnivals.
  • Support and lead school camps and excursions, ensuring safety and learning outcomes.
  • Create a safe and respectful learning environment in line with College values.
  • Use a variety of teaching strategies and ICT to enhance student engagement and outcomes.
  • Monitor and report on student progress using data-informed assessment methods.
  • Collaborate with staff to support holistic student development and wellbeing.
  • Actively participate in school duties, extra-curricular activities and whole-school initiatives.
  • Model Christian values in all professional interactions and decision-making.

Selection Criteria:

  • Current TRBWA registration.
  • Current Working with Children Check (WWCC).
  • Current Nationally Coordinated Criminal History Check.
  • Relevant teaching qualifications in Physical Education and/or Outdoor Education.
  • A sincere commitment to Jesus Christ and the philosophy of Christian education.
  • Active involvement in a Christian Church or community, exemplifying Christian beliefs and practices.
  • Agreement with the College’s Basis of Faith.
  • Excellent classroom management, interpersonal, and communication skills.
  • Ability to work collaboratively and contribute to a positive staff culture.
  • Adherence to the College’s Child Safety Policy, Code of Conduct and other school policies.

Desirable Attributes:

  • MR Bus Licence
  • Experience with school camps, outdoor activities, and practical programming.
