The Midwest Region extends along the coast from Lancelin in the south to north of Carnarvon then inland past Meekatharra. The regional headquarters is in Geraldton. District offices are located at Geraldton, Jurien Bay and Denham, with District work centres at Monkey Mia, Burringurrah, Yulga Jinna, Gascoyne Junction, Kalbarri, Thundelarra, Cue, Cervantes and the Pinnacles. The lands and waters we manage with our Traditional Owner partners are varied and beautiful, from coastal cliffs, dunes and heath to rich marine communities to outback ranges and vast scrublands.

We are currently seeking a Senior Ranger to join our team.

Under the general direction of the Operations Manager, this person is responsible for the overall management and leadership of depots/work centres in the Burringurrah and Mount Augustus area in the Gascoyne District, including:

  • The development, organisation and implementation of works programs (in consultation with district PVS, Conservation and Joint Management Coordinators), projects and activities in Mount Augustus National Park and other parks associated with the Burringurrah Work Centre in the Gascoyne District;
  • Supervising depot/work centre staff and contractors, and organising and mentoring Aboriginal Rangers, Trainee Rangers and Rangers Assistants with a focus on Mount Augustus National Park and other parks associated with the Burringurrah Work Centre in the Gascoyne District;
  • Assuming a leadership role for compliance and enforcement issues in the area; and
  • Organising and implementing works programs, projects and day to day operations relating to conservation and conservation reserve management.
